STATEMENTS: In this prospective study, the authors conclude that the 12mm Bladeless Trocar and Step trocar
wounds are similar in characteristics and dimensions, and separation of fibers
is the common mechanism of both trocars.
Compared to the pyramidal tip trocar, both the Bladeless Trocar and Step
trocar wounds were similar in length but were significantly narrower.
